Learning Outcomes and Application This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to apply environmentally sustainable work practices in an animal care and management facility.This unit applies to individuals who work under broad direction and take responsibility for their own work including limited responsibility for the work of others.No occupational licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Element: Investigate current practices in relation to resource usage
  • Identify environmental regulations applying to the organisation
  • Analyse procedures for assessing compliance with environmental/sustainability regulations
  • Collect information on environmental and resource efficiency systems and procedures
  • Collect, analyse and organise information from a range of sources to provide information/advice and tools/resources for improvement opportunities
  • Measure and document current resource usage of members of the work group

Assessment Tasks
